SKILLS NEEDED In general, the attackmen are the team’s goal scorers. To play this position, you need to be very agile and have explosive speed when you have the ball. Attackmen should also have great stick skills. Endurance is also key. Attackmen generally work with short bursts of exertion, but they are also typically More >

Coaching a sports team is a special type of journey that few actually get the pleasure of experiencing. The role involves incredible responsibility and will have a far-reaching impact on the lives of your players. Your approach can help the kids develop a passion for the game or can stifle their desire to ever pick up a stick again.

Which Type of Coach Are You?

The Leader The Leader is the type of coach that the kids respond to because they command trust and respect. This type of coach sets the example from the beginning and continues to set the pace and tone More >

All too often, we complain about how inactive this generation has become. With all the technological options keeping so many occupied, it’s refreshing to still see so many kids at the local baseball field, hockey rink, gymnasium or swimming pool. These parents have done a great thing by keeping their kids active!

Right after sign ups, parents scramble around for the proper equipment… which, of course is necessary to keep them safe. So, we’ve addressed the outside… let’s work to get the inside healthy! It’s a well known fact that athletes require a special diet to fuel their activity. Much like More >

The National Federation of State High School Associations has amended the rules for uniforms:

A. JERSEY COLOR 1. Jerseys shall be of a single, solid color. 2. The jersey shall completely cover the shoulder pads. 3. Jerseys shall be of contrasting colors for opposing teams. The home team shall wear light jerseys and the visiting team shall wear its dark-color jerseys. If you’re familiar with lacrosse, you’ve undoubtedly heard of the term “Fall Ball.”  It’s that wonderful time of year when the leaves change, the air gets colder, and all those Summer bags on heads return to a more legal form.  It’s a time to get used to new teammates, and sharpen your skills so they are second nature come game time.

Few train like LXMPro and STX pro player Kyle Harrison, so it would make sense to learn from the best to be the best.  For you offensive players, especially middies, STX recently posted a new video in their training series, More >

Saturday marks yet another matchup of the U.S. and Canada for a world championship.  After a disappointing loss in 2006, Pressler and the Coaching staff believe they have the team that will win it all this year.  Question is, do they have what it takes to get it done in 2010?  On paper they have a loaded roster; one that should beat any team in the world.  On grass, they have to take on a Canadian team who all grew up playing box lacrosse so they have crazy good stick skills.

With Paul Rabil on the U.S. side many people think More >

Nets Beware

May 14th

There’s been an outbreak of torn nets recently.  First, Kyle Wharton uncorked his lefty cannon, and tore the net against Towson:

Then, David Planning, a junior at Gonzaga College High School, went completely through the net like the Hulk through t-shirts:
